Baitfish Stocking

After 2 years of addressing water quality in the ponds and making them more habitable for fish species, EPE decided to stock golden shiners at the recommendation of Fisheries Management associates, our pond management company, and RI DEM.  Our first stocking in the fall of 2024 appears to be highly successful with very little mortality.  This stocking will be followed by another in the spring of 2025 to help establish a base of food source for the resident largemouth bass, and sunfish.  Plans to exist to collect further data on the pond and impact of the baitfish on the predator fish populations to determine next steps.

Holdovers to spawn in spring
Stock when water temperature is between 55-72 degrees
